Who we are
Dr Claire Tobin and Dr Katja Windheim
We are a small friendly collective of clinical psychologists. We met in the NHS and found that we worked well together and shared a vision of delivering psychological services in an authentic and straightforward way. We set up Lighthouse because we wanted to develop our approach further and offer it to a wider range of people. Our approach is based on mutual respect, creative thinking and passion for our work. Our clinical experience and academic training provide us with solid skills in providing you with specialist psychological interventions. Our South London clinic offices are in Morden, Camberwell. We also offer online appointments. We accept WPA and Bupa Global insurance.

What We Help With
Most people face challenging times at some point in their lives. Sometimes these gradually build without a specific trigger, sometimes they occur in response to difficult life events, and sometimes they are part of a long-standing pattern originating in childhood. You might be struggling with painful emotions, feel stuck in unhelpful behaviours or relationships, feel that things generally are not going very well or finding it hard to meet your goals and ambitions. Our Vision
Struggling with life’s challenges can feel lonely and as if no-one can understand. Recognising that you might need help from someone outside of your usual network and reaching out can feel daunting but is often the first step towards constructive change. Here at Lighthouse we believe that people should not be able to master all difficulties on their own and should have access to a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to start exploring what is going on. We believe in people’s natural capacity for healing and regard it as our role to be alongside you in this process with the end goal of improving your well-being and quality of life.
Our Approach
Between ourselves we cover most modern evidence-based psychological therapies and we can work flexibly and collaboratively to tailor the exact approach to each person’s unique circumstances and needs. We believe that the relationship between you and your psychologist is key to foster self-exploration, insight and ultimately growth and positive change, and will endeavour to make you feel listened to and supported. We aim for deeper change on an emotional level – we want you to “feel” differently, rather than just “knowing” your patterns on a head level.
